Chat rooms provide a safe, intimidation-free environment for people to explore their possibilities on dating sites. Everybody has a slight fear of rejection or public humiliation.

There is always the option to stop talking to someone in a chat room. You can’t exactly get up and walk away from the dinner table without feeling awkward if your date offends you by talking about how they get gas from eating snow peas.
