Halloween Party Decoration Ideas

There are several decorations that are always held in common at all great Halloween parties. If you choose to add some extra scary details to your festivities, however, you will really be able to scare and surprise your guests. By applying some of the following suggestions, you might even manage to get a few especially jumpy people to scream in terror!

You will no doubt be planning plenty of carved pumpkin jack-o-lanterns lit with candles placed around your party room, their ghoulish faces gleaming in the subdued lighting. Luminous images of ghosts and ghouls of all description can be bought and hung to glow in the low lighting around the walls of the room. Gossamer cloth or commercial imitation spider web quickly creates a haunted house atmosphere.

Other decorations can be hung from the ceiling right at eye level with your guests. They are sure to be scared when they accidentally walk into witches, bats, ghosts, skeletons, and spiders. Similarly, spreading small plastic bugs and spiders in the room and on plates will be sure to frighten just about anyone at your party. In a candlelit setting, your party guests will constantly be on the look out for the next frightening surprise that awaits them.

If you hang a number of thin threads from the ceiling in different parts of the room they will not be noticed in the subdued lighting, but will be felt unexpectedly as your guests move around. This can be a surprising sensation, and suggests a ghostly presence that will often get a shrieking reaction from your guests.

The unexpected is often quite scary. Set up some frightening pictures and other decorations that are placed in front of timed lights. When these scary scenes are suddenly illuminated, or better yet, combined with loud, frightening sound effects, everybody will be surprised enough to jump out of their seat. If you invite a more adult crowd, your lights could reveal a headless corpse hanging in the darkness.

Combining good lighting effects with a fog machine can really make things creepy. To make the effect authentic, hide the fog machine behind some cleverly placed tombstones or other decorations.

Another great touch can be a horror movie. Just put on an especially scary film on a big screen TV and let it play quietly in the background. It will add a chilling touch to your party.

Music plays a large part in creating the atmosphere. At least for the early part of the party, Halloween sound effects and music like the classic Monster Mash will heighten the sense of tension in the room. With the party in full swing later on, your guests will expect to hear their favorite dance music tracks. A compilation interspersing Halloween sound effects would help to maintain the atmosphere.

History of Halloween

August 13th, 2008 · No Comments

Halloween is a traditional celebration held on October 31st. Today, Halloween is an excuse for Halloween theme costume parties, and entertainment with horror films, haunted houses and other activities around the popular themes of ghosts, witches, Dracula, werewolves and the supernatural. Children love to dress up in halloween costumes and go from door-to-door in their neighborhood following the old tradition of trick-or-treating, collecting sweets and gifts, sometimes money.

Originally a Celtic festival, Halloween arrived in North America when Irish, Welsh, and Scottish immigrants whose ancestors had celebrated Halloween continued the tradition in America. From there, Halloween has spread into most Western countries where English is spoken, including Western Europe. This is partly due to Halloween’s synthesis into American pop culture.

Halloween began as a festival devoted to the link between the living and dead that was celebrated by pagans. The date of the celebration corresponded to the time when the supposed connection between the spirit and physical worlds was strongest and thus supernatural events most commonly occurred. These celebrations eventually came to be called Halloween when the growing Christian church made its activities part of All Hallows Day, also known as All Saint’s Day, a holiday who’s Gregorian calendar date was November 1.

On the evening of October 31, All Hallows Evening, a vigil was held for the following day’s celebrations. All Hallows Evening was eventually referred to as Hallowe’en and finally the Halloween that is celebrated throughout the world.

Ireland is where traditional Halloween celebrations have remained the strongest. There, children would traditionally dress as supernatural creatures, getting stores of nuts, fruit, and sweets from neighbors that would be used in the celebrations. Each town celebrated the end of summer by getting together and setting a large bonfire in order to protect them all from evil spirits.

These were used for playing traditional games like eating an apple on a string or bobbing for apples and other gifts in a basin of water, without using your hands. Salt might be sprinkled on the visiting children to ward off evil spirits. Carving turnips as ghoulish faces to hold candles became a popular part of the festival, which has been adapted to carving pumpkins in America.

There is no exact explanation of how the trickery of trick-or-treating arose, but it did so in North America. Children in Ireland often did mischievous things during Halloween that would later be blamed on the bad spirits. It seems that this tradition was merged with that of collecting treats.

Kids usually played innocent and clever tricks on adults they didn’t like so much, putting commonly used objects of theirs where they couldn’t be found on the night of Halloween.

When ecotourism came into Lebanon it was around the year of 1997 and it automatically took off. You will find that there were many people who would take the yearly trips to Lebanon and they would spread optimism and they would try to share with others information about ecotourism.

This is what makes Lebanon a success. There were people coming into the country from other places in the world, but they were teaching the locals to care for their country and to show some respect towards the animals that inhabit the area, towards the plants that live in Lebanon, and also to show respect to the fellow man. It was a huge step for eco-tourism. Many different groups came into the country and they soon where introduced to cultures and soon they began to bring others into the area and they would patron the local businesses. In return they were raising the amount of money that was being put into the local income and economy.

In the past, there have been many regions and areas that have seen the positive side effects of eco-tourism. You will find that there are many areas that have been able to figure out ways to provide great services and business opportunities that they have increased the income for the country and have stabilized the economy. You will find that it is a long and difficult process; however, you should be able to use ecotourism to help a specific area or country in the economy and also to help the eco system of the area.

Right now the campaign for eco-tourism has gotten a lot of different groups involved. You will also find that there are many economies that have boasted from the eco-tourism. There are things like olive oil production, and bee keeping, as well as, harvesting that has really made a lot of money for the country and has helped the culture in a big way.

When it comes to ecotourism, you will find that it is something that you will need to work hard to work for your area and pay off in the end. However, you will also need to think about the conservation of natural resources and learn how to make the income of the local community double and keep rising so that the whole culture and country can become better off for the next generation. Eco-tourism can be a big help to those third-world countries. You can learn more at any tourist information center.
