Furthermore, the NIH also mandates that as a response to the data gathered from the studies, the recipients of the grant must also establish innovative measures of adherence or refine present measures in order to make them better and more efficient.

The end goal of the Improving Adherence to Treatment Regimens for HIV-Positive Adolescents and Young Adults Program is to lessen or totally lessen the potential for HIV transmission and to enhance the outcomes in HIV-positive adolescents and adults.

The NIH has allocated a funding budget in the amount of $2,500,000 and is set to administer no more than 6 grant awards under the program in focus.

Interested applicants will be deemed eligible to submit an application for the Improving Adherence to Treatment Regimens for HIV-Positive Adolescents and Young Adults program if they are any of the following:

g) Public Housing Authorities/Indian Housing Authorities

h) Native American Tribal Organizations

i) Faith-based or Community-based Organizations

j) Regional Organizations
