According to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, there are some 6.1 million people troubled by infertility issues. Within this number, there is a same amount of percentage of infertility issues affected both men and women, which is 40% respectively. 20% of the 6.1 million people are related to unknown causes to infertility.

There are many causes of women infertility. Doctors from around the world are trying to find out how these specific causes are causing infertility. They are ovarian and ovulation problems, tube or peritoneal causes, hypothalamic-pituitary causes, cervical, vaginal and uterine problems and factors that are preventing women from conceiving.

How internal causes are affecting us?

Women suffering from diabetes, thyroid or any other defects of the livers and kidneys are factors that are causing infertility to many modern women. Besides that, women should take note on the psychological or mental issues that are causing infertility to them. Another cause of infertility is women having ovulation disorder, it is either they are not ovaluating at all, or they may ovulate irregularly compared to the normal ovulation during the 28-day cycle.

Another ovarian causes like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), ovarian neoplasm, diminished ovarian reserve, luteal dysfunction, premature menopauses and Turner syndrome are causing infertility to most women. It simply prevents the release of a mature egg from the ovaries, or having hormonal imbalances, or the reproduction of eggs with chromosomal defects. There are also tube or peritoneal factors that are causing the infertility to many females. It is the uterine lining (the endometrial tissue) growing outside the uterus or it is unprepared for egg implantation, blockage of the fallopian tubes which prevents an egg from traveling to the uterus.

Hypothalamic-pituitary factors, that include the common hypopituitarism, hyperprolactinemia, kallmann syndrome and other hypothalamic dysfunctions are the common causes of women infertility.

Problems from the cervical, vaginal and uterine could be one of the cause of infertility.

The problem from the vaginal would include the obstruction preventing sperms from traveling to the tubes and vaginismus. Whereas, the cervical problems would include the side effects of anti-sperm antibodies, insufficient cervical mucus which is needed for the sperm to travel and survive. Another reason for infertility which may be genetic, would be androgen insensitivity syndrome, fibroids, and various other conditions.

Are you taking note of external causes?

Since we are now more aware of the internal causes of infertility, it is now to discuss what are the external causes of infertility. Using too much cosmetic products which contain chemicals, taking in alcohol, food preservatives and additives such as monosodium glutamate (MSG), spraying pesticides, using other anti-conceiving human hormones, coffee, cigarette or tobacco smoke, and many more.
